Black Queen

I am not the one, two, or three
But I will if you need me to be
I can only take so much before I feel the need to speak
For those who no longer can
And for those who look like me
You see, I am a Black Queen
My skin shines in the sun and glows at night
I raise hell with my strength and my might
But Im so graceful
To the point everyone wants a handful, a taste full
They praise my many attributes like my curves and my hues
Then run away when it's time to listen to my blues
That's never stopped me though
From walking with my head held high
Radiating confidence from my head to my toes
The most disrespected yet the most essential
'Cuz even when you think you've had enough you feel that gravity pull on your mental
That pull that's telling you without us there would be no culture
No inspiration for your fave celebrities, who are really just vultures
You see, I am a Black Queen
I knew my worth since my conception in my ancestor' wildest dreams
I am more than I am and all that you hope to be
This is a shared experience amongst all my Black Queens
We call it Black Girl Magic because wherever we go we leave no stone unturned
We uplift those around us because that's how our village raised us
We love harder than anyone because we know what it's like to feel rejected
But still have to rise again
We are special because God saw it fit for us to be
I'm not saying you aren't either, but I'm telling you what's inside of me
I am a Black Queen
