Hello, I am Jemiah Johnson a 25 years old entrepreneur from Brooklyn, NY. My business SheGLAMShop is located in Brooklyn NY as well. The products my brand offers is Sunglasses, Handbags, Jewelry, and most recently face mask.

We are a one-stop-shop for all your luxury accessories needs. Having a business feels empowering to know that I control my hours, my pay, and do not have to depend on someone else for my lively-hood. It is a way for me to build generational wealth for my children and teach them how to build it for themselves.

My business was started in a more unconventional way. I began SheGLAMshop doing dropshipping. As a mom and college student, I did not have the finances at the time to purchase inventory. Dropshipping was what I used to get my foot in the door.

During the second year of my business, I invested my tax refund into my business to assist with the transition into having inventory on hand. Having inventory on hand was greatly appreciated by my customers, especially being able to receive their orders in a more timely manner.

The advice I would give someone in their twenties is to just start. It may not be perfect in the begin but it is a learning process. Success does not come right away, it takes lots of late nights, consistency, and refusing to give up when an obstacle comes your way. Stay focus on why you started your business and how your business would affect your future goals. Regardless of the business, you choose to start, find your niche first, find out who is your ideal customer, and how to market your product to them on various outlets. Research your vendors and read reviews, if you can order samples.

During quarantine, I learned to keep myself and my business on a strict schedule or I run the risk of not achieving my weekly goals. Giving myself a daily goal is also something that I have recently gotten back into.

For the month of May, I am manifesting an increase in sales.
