My business/brand is called Black Girl With Goals which is a lifestyle and beauty brand inspiring women, especially women of color, around the worth who love social media to become the best version of themselves through self care, self love and genuine relationship building both on and offline all while embracing their natural beauty with affordable and quality products.

I offer both physical and digital products. Some of my products include lip gloss, whitening toothpaste and digital products for self care and personal development. I will have even more things for women available in the future!

6. What does it feel like to have your own business?

It feels extremely exhilarating to have my own business! I love setting goals for myself and watching how I transform throughout my journey. Of course there are ups and downs but there is nothing better than watching your idea make an impact!

7. What steps did you take to start your business?

The steps I took to start my business are easy to execute but take patience. I literally took my podcast name and created a brand idea and identity based on who I am. I always say I am my brand and my brand is me. Then I started doing research on websites, product vendors, marketing, etc. to give myself a basic knowledge of what I am getting into. Next, I started introducing it to my audience which is what I am doing now. While you're building sites, getting inventory, etc. you should be getting your audience excited about it and showing them the behind the scenes. Lastly, you launch! I know alot of business owners would disagree and say there are a million more things to be done but honestly you should launch and then tweak as you go. Don't analyze so much to the point where you're holding yourself back and pretending to be busy! RUN WITH THE IDEA.

8. What advice do you have for someone in their twenties trying to start their business like yours or in general?

The advice I have for someone in their twenties trying to start a business is to utilize social media. People are literally growing entire businesses and brands online with no storefront. Technology is so advanced and social media is growing daily. Use these FREE platforms as your storefronts!

9. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned during quarantine about yourself and your business?

The most important lesson I've learned during quarantine about myself and my business is that I needed this quarantine. I needed to be put on pause. Life was moving at such a fast pace for me and this gave me the opportunity to slow down, take time to figure out what I want my future to look like and execute ALL the things that I've been procrastinating to do. My productivity is through the roof and I love it!

10. What are you manifesting for the month of May?

What I am manifesting for the month of May is growth in my brand and my movement. I really want to make an impact and have people enjoy my brand WITH me. People need resources right now and I want to be the go to person for them. Fall in love with your business and the money will come.
