MANIFE$T MAY: Inza Ford Makeup Artistry

Hi Everyone! My name is Inza, and I currently reside in Maitland, FL. I am Bahamian-American and have been in Orlando for over 20 years. I guess you can say that I am from Florida because Ive been here for the majority of my life. I am the CEO of Inza Ford Makeup Artistry.

I am a freelance makeup artist who "Caters to creating custom looks and enhancing beauty one queen at a time." I also offer one on one makeup classes that range from the natural look to the glam look. Being able to make women smile, make them feel and look beautiful, and answer any questions they may have about makeup makes my heart completely smile.

What did it feel like when I started my own business..It felt AMAZING! I've held onto the dream of stepping out and opening my business for about two years now. January 2020 was when I took that leap of faith and gave it 100% of my time. It was the best decision I made for myself. My younger sister Ashlee was the first person to introduce me to makeup. I was never the "girly girl" growing up. She took me into a MAC store one day, allowed the makeup artist to create a custom look for me, and I never looked back. I am all about beauty on a budget.

Starting my business was challenging. I didn't want to be like every makeup artist that I know. I fought with asking myself, "How can I be different from everyone else? How can I stand out? I wrote out my business purpose, products, and services that I currently offer and what I plan to provide in the future. I reviewed different business positioning (what I should do to market my product or services), and I continued to practice my craft.

If I could give my younger self any advice, I would say don't allow anyone or anything stand in the way of your dream of starting your own business. Just because the market is saturated with Makeup Artists, or cosmetic lines, or any product/service you're trying to build, you can still be successful.

During quarantine, I've continued to work on offering other services. By the end of May, I will have added another service to my brand, which will be eyebrow tinting and waxing. By the end of 2020, my goal is to complete two beginner makeup classes. I want to be an example for our generation to be the brand that you wish to be.
