My name is Demetria Jackson, I am also know as Demi. I am 27 years old. I am from Sanford, Florida as well as my business is located there as well. I originally started my first business in Tallahassee, while I attended college at TCC and Florida State University. The name of my business is Demi Jay Styling Company, my newest business is Born Fly Boutique. The first business is a wardrobe styling company that services both men and women for engagements, photo shoots, video shoots and more. While my second up and coming business is an online boutique for women and men. We offer clothing,

shoes and accessories(purses, book bags, Fanny packs, hats, watches, bracelets, hair clips, etc.) for standard sizes (Small- X-Large) as well as plus sizes (1X-5X). Demi Jay Styling Company offers wardrobe styling, personal shopping, virtual styling, closet revamping/organization, creative direction, etc. I specialize in editorial looks, upscale attire, urban attire and more. If you have an event to go to, need help building a business/modeling/etc. portfolio, styling for a photo shoot/ video shoot, and/or even need a concept for a photo/video shoot, I am always available. Born Fly Boutique offers deals on all of the hottest and newest fashion trends out now! It allows you to shop online in the comfort of your own home. While not have the hassle of going into a store for hours upon hours, still not being able to find the things you need or want.

It feels great to have your own business solely because it is something new as well as something I’ve always envisioned and dreamed of. However, it can often be a struggle getting started and keeping/maintaining a social media presence.

The steps I took for starting my business, were based off of supply and demand. With styling, it was definitely something that was necessary within the fashion community. There were several individuals who were interested in a wardrobe stylist but didn’t nowhere to start or whom to contact. This helped with my discussion to supply a demand that was needed at the time. As far as Born Fly Boutique, I have decided to follow the same methods as far as supply and demand. I saw a group of individuals who were interested in a particular look and/or items that weren’t necessarily easy to find. Often individuals can’t find or purchase the fashions they truly admire or items that they truly want for a reasonable price. Some often can’t find items in their particular size and find it hard to be stylish on their budget or because they may be plus size. I found a way to cater to a community that has a particular fashion sense that is undeniable and affordable. This is where I decided to fill the demand within the industry and find ways to push the boundaries of fashion.

The advice I would give individuals in their twenties would be, to go after the things you truly want in life. Build in your twenties so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor in your 30s-40s. If you start young, you can truly live the life you desire on the terms you want to live them on. Embrace the now, understand that you will figure it out and you will succeed beyond your wildest measures, no matter what. Most people will follow the models of others, however, it may not be the right model for your particular business. What works for you may not work for someone else. Believe in your work ethic, so you can achieve the goals you set in life. Don’t give up until you have achieved every goal you’ve set for yourself, just as well as for your business. It’s better to look back on life and say you achieved everything you wanted to achieve, instead of having not achieved nothing at all.

The most important thing I’ve learned about myself and my business during quarantine is that I shouldn’t doubt myself and it’s time for me to kick it into high gear! I have things I want to accomplish and I shouldn’t let anything interfere with it. Also, quarantine has helped me learn some important measures and marketing techniques, I should take within building up my online boutique and relaunching my styling company.

I am interested in manifesting new income in the month of May. I am also interested in utilizing new marketing techniques and tools to expand my business. Thank you again for your time and consideration! This was such a great idea!
