MANIFE$T MAY: S’mora Lee Cosmetics

I'm Latasia but often referred to as “S’mora” which is my middle name. Currently, I am 29 years old but soon to be the big 3-0 June 1st! I was born and raised in Winter Garden, Florida where I currently reside. I’ve been blessed to share these same roots with my business. I have a cosmetic brand S’mora Lee Cosmetics that serves all things beauty! All of my products are sold online at SmoraLeeCosmetics.com and as of now, I offer liquid matte lipsticks and hydrating glosses that allow you to “Walk into any room without saying a word and let your lips do the talking! Ask yourself, what are your lips saying about you?!”

When asked what it feels like to have my own business, the first word that comes to mind is “Surreal”! It’s ironic that your segment is related to manifestation because that is exactly what I’ve done to attain my brand. I’ve always loved everything beauty from makeup, hair, fashion and wardrobe, etc. However, I love to shop for deals and I’d always find that some of the more “quality” brands were pricey especially brands that I found for Black women such as myself. This finding motivated me to create a brand that would not only be of quality but affordable for all! Who doesn’t love to look beautiful on a budget?!

Starting S’mora Lee Cosmetics was HARD and maintaining it is HARDER! LOL that’s just the honest truth but I’d definitely say it’s rewarding to see the smiles on my SLC Beauties (customers) faces once they have their #SLCLipTalk on. The number one step I took in creating my brand was prayer and manifestation!!! After realizing the doors and connections that God began to open and create for me, I became extremely focused and researched and researched! Although I didn’t launch S’mora Les Cosmetics until March 7, 2020, I’ve been working on my brand for about two years. If I could give advice to anyone in their twenties (or any age) looking to become a business owner/entrepreneur, I’d say pray and vision what you truly want. Don’t do it because it’s a trend but do it because it’s your passion and most importantly, your PURPOSE! Passion and purpose are very important because when sales or clientele slow down, you still must have the desire to create and run the business without giving up. An important lesson I’ve learned throughout being in quarantine during this pandemic, is consistency! Creating, researching and posting on social media-being consistent with all three because without them, the business suffers and it’d be hard to play “catch up”. There is so much “down time”/ free time and it only makes sense to use it wisely especially since consumers are home and constantly on the internet throughout the day.

For the month of May, I am manifesting to receive 250 orders with an additional item being added to my product list. My goal is to continue to expand and be better than I was yesterday in regards to customer service, professionalism, quality provided and overall, just becoming a better businesswoman.
