Our mental health is one of the most important things in our life. Statistics tell us that every year around 42.5million people in the US alone suffers from mental illness. Thankfully, there’s something we can all do to help our mental health in the comfort of our own homes, and that’s journaling. This post covers the ways that journaling can help you.
BENEFITS OF JOURNALING
1. Clarify your thoughts and feelings – Journaling can help you understand your thoughts and feelings better. By taking a few moments to jot down your thoughts and emotions, you’ll be able to go from feeling all jumbled up inside, to seeing and feeling much more clearly.
2. Reduce Stress – By having journaling as a daily habit you’ll be able to begin to see what’s causing you stress and anxiety. Write down any anger, stress, sadness, negative thoughts, and any other painful emotions. Writing those emotions down will help you and your emotional well-being.
3. Benefit relationships – Journaling about any disagreements or arguments with others, rather than dwelling on them, can sometimes help you understand the other person's thoughts and feelings rather than just your own.
4. Know yourself – Journaling every day will help show you what makes you feel happy and confident in yourself, something that’s incredibly important for your emotional well-being.
5. Problem-Solving – Journaling can unlock your true thoughts and feelings, your inner emotions. By unlocking those inner emotions, you can see what decision will benefit you and your emotional well-being the most.
