Win Your Inner Battles

One of the main things I've learned about life is that before you conquer the external world you have to master the inner world of your mind. The mind is like an ocean. For most people, the mind is consistently moving, just like water, without ever coming to a rest. Our mind gets stirred up by our restless and rushing thoughts. Our desires and fears do not only disturb us, but they also prohibit us from finding peace of mind. Just like the wind, our thoughts and anxieties can lead to a stormy ocean, without allowing us to rest. The mind, however, in itself is neutral, just like water. If you are able to reduce the influence of your thoughts on your mind, you will create a calm sea.Self-doubt creeps into your system at the weirdest moments. At times you don't expect it at all. There's a war going on inside your head and you are not even aware of it. And all of a sudden, you have a inner war on your hands...
"Why am I doing this?"

"Is everything that I am doing is it really worth it?"
"Why me? Like seriously WHY ME?"
Negativity that wells up inside of you or in the world around you can quickly become toxic and hold you back from living the life you want.
Here are 5 war strategies that will help you to win your inner battles.
1. See Yourself As A Warrior
First things first: You have to start looking at yourself as a warrior.
You’re in constant battle with yourself.
You have to realize that you’re the person who’s in control of your life. It’s not your best friend, professors, family, significant other, boss/co-workers, or anything else that you can possibly blame.
That means one simple thing: This is your life. Own it. You got this.
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Eph. 6:11-17
Never blame yourself. That’s not what a warrior does. Instead, fight your inner enemy by not giving up.
2. Know Yourself
What makes you angry, sad, fearful? How do you make decisions? What’s most important in your life?
If you want to win your inner battles, it’s obvious that you have to know your enemy.
Transparent Moment: What makes me angry, sad, and fearful is not fulfilling my purpose and achieving my goals. I AM my biggest enemy. I say myself because I have kept myself from so many things that I didn't pursue and I have suffered from it. Battling your inner mind is the hardest thing to do but knowing yourself and everything you want in life will make the process easier. Also, talking to God has helped me through out this process of getting to know myself. Ive prayed to God about pointing me in the right direction I needed to be in. Help me know my purpose God. Help me to know everything you have planned for me. Help me not be an enemy to myself.
3. Believe In Yourself
How do you believe in yourself?
Affirmations HELP! I have an affirmation wall in my room filled with quotes, bible verses, and words that remind me everyday of who I am.
I release my need to compare myself to others. I judge myself by my own standards of success. I am ENOUGH just as I am.
I am ready to show the world who I am and what I have to offer. No one can stop me from fulfilling my purpose!
I am making space for more success to come into my life. I let go of my excuses. I am productive & focused on results!
I choose to take responsibility for my own happiness. I will not let anyone “make” me angry today. I am in control!
Even if I take a wrong turn, I can find another route. I can get a map & chart a new course. Stopping is not an option!
I am committed to accomplishing my goals, despite all the mistakes I make along the way. I choose to LEARN from them!
4. Stop Making Assumptions
Never make conclusions based on assumptions.
Always look at facts. Don’t have the facts? Don’t make assumptions.
Also, ignore conventional wisdom. Most stuff you hear and read around you is not true or very subjective.
Avoid inner conflict by looking at facts. Always.
5. Keep Moving
No matter what you do, never stand still. Staying still is the same as moving backward. Because life doesn’t wait.
Mental toughness is created by always plowing forward. By facing your adversity head on.
“What does not move is dead.” - Robert Greene
You can either Win or Die
The battles you fight with yourself are very real. And if you arm yourself with the right strategies, you will win.
Laird Hamilton said it best:
“Make sure your worst enemy doesn’t live between your own two ears.”
