Surviving My Hurricane

Hurricane Irma was the most powerful hurricane that Florida has seen in a very long time. The hurricane started from a tropical storm that grew into a category 5 to a 4 back to a 5 then to a 3 and then downgraded all the way to a tropical storm. Hurricane Irma brought so much rain, destroyed so many things in her path, killed many, and left a lot broken hearted.
Have you ever felt like the season you are in is anything like this?
Everyone has that period in their life where they feel as though so much is going on, everything in their path they destroy, or no matter what they do they are left sadden. From what I learned during Hurricane Irma is to never give up and to never lose faith. Hurricane Irma was so unpredictable. We didn’t know what path she would take or the damage she would cause. Not knowing something during the storm can get tricky, confusing, and dark. The typical thing to do is to give up and not try again. God said to never lose faith or to grow weary.
Hebrews 12:2 "Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed that exhilarating finish in and with God. "
As humans, we have a tendency to want to know the if's, why's, and how's in circumstances in life, especially those ones in which we suffer and feel great pain, but God is calling us to trust Him. God calls us to trust Him even in those times of uncertainty when they present themselves to us for He alone, being God, He knows that the plans He has for us are good and as painful as they are, they are indeed working for our good even when they do not look good nor feel good. As we travel through this life of many mountains, ditches, sorrows, suffering, sickness and pain, knowing that one day our souls will indeed find permanent rest with God. Yes, even in the midst of life's most painful test and trials, we can experience the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, the peace that only Christ can give, the peace in knowing that in all that you may suffer or go through in this life, God is still with you.
Before I always questioned God and he's reasons of placing me through the storm.
Like God why me? Why should I suffer? It wasn’t until I faced something that I thought I could never escape.
God put me through my season because I needed to learn and I am still learning. During my storm I lost faith, purpose, and motivation to get myself out because I was beat down so many times. But I do have a testimony even in the mist of the storm. My testimony is that God blessed me even in my storm. He gave me peace to know that I am okay and that I will survive. I am just being tested on my faith and what I can endure knowing He is on my side. Inspite of calamity He still has a plan for my good. So now when I am faced with a storm I will still and grateful for what God has planned for me.
Here is my favorite song for when I am faced with many challenges and obstacles."My Testimony" by Marvin Sapp.
So glad I made it, I made it through In spite of the storm and rain, heartache and pain I'm still alive declaring you I made it through See, I didn't lose
Experience lost at a major cost But I never lost faith in you
So if you see me cry, It's just a sign that I'm I'm still alive I got some scars, but I'm still alive In spite of calamity, He still has a plan for me And it's working for my good And it's building my testimony
So glad I made it, I made it through In spite of the storm and rain, heartache and pain I'm still alive declaring you I made it through, I didn't lose Experienced lost at a major cost, But I never lost faith in you
I'm so glad I made it So glad I made it I made it thru' I made it thru'
So glad I made it, I made it through In spite of the storm and rain, heartache and pain I'm still alive declaring you I made it through, I didn't lose Experienced lost at a major cost, But I never lost faith in you

So glad I made it, I made it through In spite of the storm and rain, heartache and pain I'm still alive declaring you I made it through, I didn't lose Experienced lost at a major cost, But I never lost faith in you
